Put the fee in perspective
This is a one-time decision. Price should not be the priority.
Families think carefully about school fees, coaching fees and college fees, and rightly so. Yet the decision that sits underneath all of them, which direction to take, is often made on a cheap test or advice from relatives.
Think about what a wrong direction can cost: a year spent in a stream that does not suit the student, coaching for an exam they never wanted to write, a degree that has to be restarted, or years in a job that drains them. Compared with that, the cost of proper counselling is small.
This does not mean the most expensive option is always right. It means you should pay for what is included: a sound assessment, a qualified person who explains it, and a plan you can act on.
