Questions to ask any career counsellor before you book

What qualifications and experience does the counsellor have? Ask what they are certified in and how long they have been guiding students.
Which assessment will my child take, and does it change by age? A Class 9 student and a graduate should not get the same test.
Who explains the report? Check that a counsellor sits with the student, not just emails a PDF.
Can parents join the discussion? Family considerations such as budget, location and expectations need to be part of the plan.
What will we have at the end? Ask whether you receive a written roadmap and whether follow-up questions are allowed.
Do you earn commission from colleges? Guidance should be independent of where the student finally takes admission.

Is a career counsellor near me better than an online career counsellor?
Not necessarily. Meeting in person helps when parents want to sit together, but the quality of the assessment and the explanation matters more than distance. Career Captain offers both, following the same process.
Career counsellor or career counselor: is there a difference?
No. “Counsellor” is the Indian and British spelling, and “counselor” is the American spelling. People search for career counselling, career counseling, career counselor near me and career guidance near me, but they all mean the same professional service.
What does a career counsellor actually do?
A career counsellor helps a student or professional understand their interests, abilities, personality and values, compares realistic courses and careers, and turns that into a practical plan. A good counsellor explains the reasoning so the family can make the decision themselves.
Do you guide students who live outside Hyderabad?
Yes. The assessment is completed online and the counselling discussion can happen on a video call, so students from other cities can work with us.
